About Us

After 5 years as a freelance safety specialist, Mike Langford saw a rapid growth in his freelance business resulting in him employing a office team to help run the daily operations while increasing the associate consultant team to meet customer demand. To reflect that Mike was no longer an individual, he rebranded to Harbourside Safety in 2024 and transitioned from a sole trader to a limited company.

Our senior consultant

Mike Langford is an experienced safety specialist who started his safety career in the Royal Navy providing emergency and primary healthcare and nuclear safety on submarines and naval bases.

On leaving the Royal Navy Mike has continued to develop his skills and has become, not only a highly experienced safety professional but highly competent environmental health advisor and a well founded leader.

Mike's safety experience includes the safety of indoor and outdoor events and general organisational safety across a range of sectors. He is also highly experienced in health and safety for TV/film, short productions, commercials and music videos.

Alongside his health and safety experience, Mike also has vast experience in providing environmental health services including local authority experience, food safety audits for restaurants, mobile vendors and hotels. He holds postgraduate qualifications in both Health & Safety and Environmental Health
